Born from Love, Inspired by Loss
Koleton Cares was founded by Walt Derhammer after the unimaginable loss of his wife, Kayte, and their soon-to-be-born son, Koleton, in a tragic car accident. Just over a month away from meeting their baby boy, Walt’s world was turned upside down. In the midst of his grief, Walt found strength in Kayte’s memory—a woman who radiated kindness, love, and an unwavering devotion to her family, friends, and community.
Her passion for giving back and being present for those around her inspired Walt to channel his heartbreak into a mission that reflected her legacy.
